Tired and Fatigued? Let’s Energize!
How are you feeling at this time of year?
Have you been keeping up with your resolutions and maintaining a good level of energy right now?
We all have highs and lows in our energy cycles and it’s important to keep our physical and mental health in check and balanced throughout the year.
We’ve noticed that in January and February when it’s bitter cold and we are required to do some physical activities in harsh conditions as a matter of life in Eastern Canada. We started our 2022 with lockdowns, restrictions, and a major snowstorm, and despite our good energy habits, even we start to feel fatigued.
For many around the world, the past few months have had days of overindulgence as we scrambled to meet friends and family after several months and reconnect. Life has taken its toll on some of us and we’re doing little things to keep positive and motivated each day.
During the winter, we all look for ways to do activities that may help get us back in good shape, mentally and physically. Shoveling is a necessity, so if you have a walkway or portion of snow to clear, don’t forget to do some light stretching, dress appropriately, and in layers, and if you can do so, salt your driveway, an unexpected winter slip or fall and totally ruin your day and week, so remember to tread lightly and monitor the actual temperatures in your area.
Safety should always be a priority and you may find after your chores, even though it is below 0, you might have built up quite a sweat and even shed some pounds. Some minor benefits when you wake up after a long night of snowfall! And don’t forget to have a warm drink or light snack before and after your daily winter outdoor chores.
When the sky is clear, we try to take in the sun whenever we can. It certainly is an uplifting feeling when warm rays of sunshine come through the windows to brighten our day after a tough commute to start our days. If you are outdoors, try to use appropriate hydration and creams that will offer protection and moisture to the largest organ we all have as human beings, our skin! Lips chap, skin gets dry, and feet get very cold, so add some personal care to your daily routine at this time of year. Some of us had a resolution, “New Year, New You!”, so treat yourself kindly.
Taking a daily moment to breathe deeply, meditate, and reset your mind and focus will surely help us to enjoy the wonders of our creator and keep us grateful as we all try to make the best of what will be several harsh weeks of bitter cold while this Pandemic continues on. Your attitude can turn a gloomy day into an awesome one with a great intention and attitude and how knows? You may even brighten the day of another with your good vibe!
We wish you peace, safety, and lots of good memories this winter. The spring will come soon and daylight will increase so don’t despair if it’s been a rough start to your 2022, we’re cheering you on for a better tomorrow this winter!
