Our best moments of 2022
Whew! Just a few more weeks of this year and we begin another. It’s that time of year for our team to reflect, share, and communicate our best times and the toughest challenges we faced this year.
Having a professional mentor and coach to help guide us at times has kept a lot of us on track and we asked Madani Chronicles creator and coach Kelvin Ali about some tips on ending the year strong.
“You guys are lucky that I badger you to be on your A game each week. In order to have best moments, you have to intentionally work at something that is as the old adage and acronym goes, SMART.
When you set your days and weeks up, plan and have a support team. Communication is key. Respect is critical. Intention is everything.
We have best moments because we also had a lot of bad days during the process. We took those bad days and after all the venting was over, we extrapolated the learning and gained some experience.
Moments can always be great, even the best, if you are doing something you love or are in the presence of like- minded people.
Everyone has a best of and worst of every single day. Knowing what those triggers are and how to be aware of them and how to neutralize them with good habits and practices is all I have tried to do when I coach a group, team, or individual. Knowing what questions will fire you up and open introspection points so you can grow and thrive is what any coach in any profession has to do.
What’s your schedule like? That’s a good indication of if you are going to have good days or days lost to distraction which eventually leads to bad days when you reflect on the time wasted procrastinating, putting off, delaying, avoiding, and putting in the effort needed to get better or improve your skill so you can contribute to those you need to.
You are having best moments now because of the habits and questions I asked you to contemplate on. But you need to reflect, think, vent, and share. Your best moment can surely bring a smile to another if you are vulnerable enough to share your worst moments as well. That builds trust with each other because we have all had bad days, terrible experiences, people have hurt us, cheated us, lied to us, stolen from us, and it hurts man.
If you keep it all bottled up, there will be more bad days than good ones to have so thanks. I am glad you benefited from my experiments on you all, but in all seriousness. Only you make a day, moment, time memorable, sometimes its just being calm, connected, recentered, and making that great intention before you begin anything that will make the difference. Many of us will need help on our journeys and that’s where you need to ask for and go out to seek the help you need. Sometimes it can be your prayers or the prayers of another that can be answered guiding you to the person or group that can and will support you. So, you to have best moments, its easy man, work on consciously making them. Frying an egg and drinking a cup of coffee can be the best moment of the day if you want it to be, gratitude for having that egg and the coffee to drink is a good place to start.”
We received some awesome coaching and support this year and we hope that whatever your goals were or are that you find some time to reflect on good, the bad, the ugly, and then you can select the best to inspire your friends and family and maybe even our community!
