Out here in Ontario, Canada the days are getting longer and warmer and with the new season of sunshine, we are inspired after several years of Pandemic restrictions to be able to do some of the things we once loved to do. As the summer approaches, many outdoor gathering events and attractions are opening back up for their first full season after 2-3 years or cancellation.
As things appear to be returning to what we hope is going to be a great summer, we have no shortage of reasons to get outdoors and to get in some fresh air without having to bundle up in layers of clothing as we’ve been accustomed to doing for the past 6 months in our region.
Summer street festivals and farmer’s markets are great symbols of the time of year and are just another reason to enjoy the season. Many local events are returning to most of our regions and it’s great to see people interacting in public venues and places of faith once again. Many opportunities to experience and interact with some wonderful people in great places over these summer months can be scheduled, so we hope you begin to make some great summer plans.
The opportunity to live in peace and freedom is something we are always grateful for and having gratitude reminds us that we can still do some simple acts in our communities by supporting local businesses during summertime strolls. Many of our communities and local businesses in so many parts of the world have been so disrupted and financially burdened just trying to survive over these past years of difficulty and hardship so we hope that your town is on the way to becoming a better, safer, and a wonderful place to be.
Many towns, villages, and cities will be hosting annual events and celebrations of society, culture, community, and agricultural experiences as we all try to re-connect and live in harmony with each other. We are certainly becoming filled with anticipation and excitement as we wish to visit some of our favorite summer past-time venues this year.
Our friends to the south of us in America just celebrated their Memorial Day week-ends by attending a great sporting event in their city. Over 320,000 people saw Marcus Ericsson prevail live at the Indianapolis 500 to become the 74th Champion of ‘The Greatest Spectacle in Racing’ so if this is an indication of things to come, it seems that the world is opening up again in very big ways.
We are fortunate to be encouraged to take some time to relax throughout the year and especially during the summer. We schedule our own staycations and local vacations during these thrilling summer months and as we know from experience and global climate change, on the hottest of days, we will at times just want to stay indoors and stay cool from the subtle breeze of portable fans or air conditions.
As digital creators, we are in front of screens much of our days and we are always encouraged to get outdoors and away from our desks throughout the day and on our breaks. That summertime walk to get ice cream or iced ‘anything’ is part of our summertime practice which we will not take for granted this year. Many of us are also looking forward to seeing that big summer blockbuster in a cinema this summer and we hope to make some great memories on a sunny day and weekend to come.
So many of us around the world began our 2022 in a state of lockdown and illness surging and we truly hope that you are in good health or making good health choices. This summer will be fun-filled as we meet friends, and family, and a few of us maybe even take in that summer road trip, (despite insane fuel prices in our part of the world) to see what new experiences we can find.
Whatever your plans are at this time of year we hope you have safe, healthy, and many fun-filled days of play and excitement to come. We hope that your local community begins to thrive again and if you have not made any plans for some summer experiences this year, why not schedule something fun and reward yourself with that small personal gift to yourself, your friends, or your family?
Did you have a pre-pandemic summertime ritual like taking in that summer blockbuster with a friend at the local cinema? Going to that amusement park? Hiking or following trails in public parks? Fishing or camping? That when that local festival or special event? Enjoying some summertime recreational sport or competition with friends, teammates, or community rivals? Enjoying a soft-served Ice cream from that awesome Ice cream truck or local confectionary establishment? Or just enjoying a picnic on a very clear and sunny day. Or maybe just sitting outside and reading that awesome book or comic?
We hope that you enjoy your summer of 2022, we certainly will take every chance to make the most of these wonderful, sunshine-filled days. Don’t forget to check with your local stay weather station, stay hydrated, wear your sunscreen, and dress appropriately for your event or attraction so that you can take those awesome pictures to smile and reflect upon when this season changes once again.
