Look up in the sky!
Look up in the sky!
Those of us who were fortunate to live in a rural setting at some point in their life certainly appreciate the vast and open space of our farm lands.
Hopefully, in your lifetime you’ve had a chance to just sit or lay on the sand or grass and watch the clouds. Sometimes our minds will try to find shapes and imagery that seem familiar to us as we look up at the white and fluffy wonders of nature.
Some of us have witnessed things that seem strange in the day and night and we wonder are we really alone?
We asked Madani Chronicles creator Kelvin Ali his thoughts on unidentified arial phenomenon.
“Wow, UFO’s, stuff in the sky, I am sure we all questioned ourselves. At 50, I can remember the first time I saw a ‘shooting star’ as a teenager and from that point on I was always a sky watcher.
My curiosity has certainly led me to experience visual phenomena that is unusual, so I always look for the science, a rational explanation which often there is with some research and effort, but in our world of social media and CGI, it’s hard to know what’s real at times when viewing online content, but when you see something with your own eyes, then the door has been opened up. We are created this way to find solutions to unknown problems and this is why science and math are important subjects to be adept in.
I am fortunate and blessed to have been studying the Islamic Arts and Sciences for over 2 decades now and God willing, I will continue to be granted knowledge from hadith, Quran, and my dear teachers and colleagues.
Certainly, there is an aspect of matters of the unseen and Jinn, and everyone loves to hear about those events and stories, especially the youth, and this can be dangerous to the curious and undisciplined mind.
Are we alone? We are never alone according to Islamic ideology, Allah (swt) is closer to us than our own jugular veins, and the Jinn are a real entity and creation of Allah (swt).
Black Magicians and dark practices are rampant all over the world and creatures not usually visible to us may have been given some ability to do so by Allah (swt). I don’t think we are the only civilization with intelligence to exist or exist is you think about how old science has estimated the Universe to be. There are creatures, angels, and other entities everyone on a macro and microscopic level.
Most of the weird stuff in our skies will seem alien because it is. You give a console controller to a person who has never seen one and say what is it and they will think it is some futuristic miraculous invention. I am sure countries all over the world have programs for highly advanced craft that are not public knowledge in the guise of National Defense. My personal opinion is we have been given scraps of technology as civilians, but I expect the future to be very good.
Billions of humans have a computer in their pocket so let’s hope the flying cars and vehicles that science fiction is conjuring up continues to be developed. It all starts with an idea and if we are in space and can launch rockets, what of civilizations in galaxies and universes that have habitable conditions and live that may have been created even 50,000 years before we were. They might evolve technology at a rate superior to our own if Allah (swt) gave them free will and intellect like humans.
Enjoy sky watching it can be highly relaxing to star at the sky on a clear night and you will see things that don’t make sense, let’s just hope it was something that was made on earth but we weren’t important enough to know about it.
I was fortunate enough to catch a meteor shower last year and saw on a couple clear nights about 15, as a hobby and allocating time to look up, it made some cool memories, almost impossible to capture on camera unless you are very serious about sky gazing, but it’s always good when the weather network gives you a heads up on possible viewing times for sky phenomena when it’s predictable.
Don’t hold your breath on Aliens saving us all, my beliefs as a Muslim tell me that Prophet Muhammad (saw) would have mentioned something of this to humanity in hadith, let’s just hope if there are highly intelligent species from someplace, far, far, away, they do not introduce themselves as Gog and Magog if they decide to make their presence known.”
Do you enjoy looking up at the sky during the day or evening? Why not take in a sunset or sunrise outdoors? Our planet and our universe are beautiful and if you’ve seen something strange that you’d like to share, we’d love to hear about it.

Your friends,
Beyond Badr Dev Team!
Look up in the sky!
Are you one of the fortunate to live in a rural setting or have you taken some time to appreciate the vast and open space of the greenery of your local agricultural farm lands this past summer?
Hopefully, in your lifetime you’ve had a chance to just sit or lay on the sand or walk on tall blades of green and lush grass taking a moment to just breathe, enjoy the moment and maybe just stare up at the clouds. When we do, sometimes our minds will try to find shapes and imagery that seem familiar to us so we can make some sense of recognize what the white and fluffy wonders of nature could be.
As creators many of our dev team members love to just sit and stare at times and some of us have witnessed things that seem strange both in the day and night and often, like so many of us, we wonder are we really alone?
We asked Madani Chronicles creator Kelvin Ali his thoughts on unidentified arial phenomenon and for an Islamic perspective on aliens.
“Wow, UFO’s, stuff in the sky, that can’t be explained. If you live long enough you will probably witness many things that don’t make sense but if you had the information to process it you probably could make sense of it.
I am sure we all questioned ourselves or what we’ve seen or even heard at times. I’ve recently been blessed to have made it to 50 and I can remember the first time I saw a ‘shooting star’ as a teenager. I was on a road trip with my family to New York and I saw a meteor burn up as it soared in the sky. It was really from that point on I was always a sky watcher.
My curiosity has certainly led me to experience visual phenomena that is what most would say is unusual. I always look for the science and a rational explanation when I see something weird and there often with some research and effort a reasonable explanation for things.
In our world of social media and insanely cool CGI, it’s hard to know what’s real at times when viewing online contentespecially to the untrained eye, visual effects can seem and create magical worlds so I think as human beings we love to imagine.
When you see something with your own eyes it becomes real and then the door has been opened up to the question ‘what the….?’
We are created this way to find solutions to unknown problems and to learn and acquire knowledge. Human beings are problem solving and pattern recognition machines and this is why science and math are important subjects to be adept in even if you just have a very basic understanding of concepts.
I am fortunate and blessed to have been studying the Islamic Arts and Sciences for over 2 decades now and God willing, I will continue to be granted knowledge from hadith, Quran, and from my dear teachers and colleagues so I have a little bit of a knowledge from hadith and Quranic sources which speak about knowledge of ‘the unseen’.
Certainly, there is an aspect of ‘matters of the unseen’ that can help to understand things or try to make sense of very strange phenomena and the world and universe we live in. Jinn from belief are real entities that are not visible with our human capacities. Everyone loves to hear about these events and stories, especially the youth, and especially at this time of year when horror, fantasy, cosplay of monsters, witches, and warlocks, zombies and mass murderers are being blitzed on television in North America for Halloween. This can be dangerous to the curious, unsupervised, and undisciplined mind. But you asked me about UFO’s and aliens.
Are we alone? We are never alone according to Islamic ideology, Allah (swt) is closer to us than our own jugular veins, and the Jinn are a real entity and creation of Allah (swt). Allah (swt) is the creator of all things so knows of every leaf that falls on our vast planet so that level of understanding of things is beyond human comprehension. Allah (swt) can create anything and we should just examine our own abilities and capacities. Take notice of the creation around you. Examine an insect and you will see how perfect things have been created.
When you think about matters that we can’t explain think about finding a logical and rational explanation before playing the alien or jinn card.
Yes, there are elements of Black Magicians and dark practices which have existed for thousands of years which are rampant all over the world, but most of the individuals who do this are charlatans with no real power. Modern day magic tricks and special effects can certainly make us vulnerable to believing something is real.
Any creatures not usually visible to us will have been given some ability to do so by Allah (swt). On a personal level, I don’t think we are the only civilization with intelligence to exist or that exists. Just look at how many galaxies and universes the new James Webb telescope has revealed to humans. Its sad to think our egos only allow us to be the sole creation when there are millions of creatures, we probably have no clue of that exist in our seas so we should try to figure ourselves and our planet out before we worry about how others are living on strange new worlds. That’s what entertainment is for and why interpretation of the universe or what a strange new world looks like it’s so fascinating to us all.
When you think about how old science has estimated the Universe to be, the math is in favour of many worlds with life, so study science if you want to go looking for life elsewhere, but I think you can do a lot on our humble little blue world with the energy and time you have been given. There are creatures, angels, and other entities that Allah (swt) has created on a macro and microscopic level and from an Islamic perspective I believe in the perfectness and oneness of our creator.
Most of the weird stuff in our skies will seem alien because it is.
We can’t see air but we know it’s pretty important to us, right? If you can explain air competently then you can begin to look at other spectrums of light. If not, don’t rush to the fantasy world and be careful what you consume. If you watch dark things constantly, changes are you will see wars in the clouds.
If you were to travel back in time hypothetically and give a potato peeler to someone and explain, what is it, they wouldthink it is some futuristic miraculous invention if you could communicate effectively and even better – show them how it works. Just 50 years ago the potato peeler was not a common or know thing, I know because as a kid I had to use a knife to peel potatoes for my mom and we lived in Canada so it was a matter of humans making things better. Many in this generation would think these little things always existed, but someone had to do it. Like our comics. If someone didn’t attempt to do it, maybe eventually someone would have tried, but no one has for 1400 years so we have some catch up to do on things to keep knowledge relevant and in line with how society learns and absorbs data or content.
I am sure countries all over the world have programs for highly advanced craft that are not public knowledge in the guise of National Defense, so maybe if you’ve seen a Vector type looking craft, it might be human design and inspired.Technology has been suppressed from most of us for centuries in the name of profit so I won’t go down that road right now. But my personal opinion is we have been given scraps of technology as civilians and being in a field related to technology development, I certainly expect the future to be very good.
Billions of humans now have a computer in their pocket so let’s hope the flying cars and vehicles that science fiction is conjuring up continues to be developed into reality.
It all starts with an idea and if we are currently developing habitats for life in space and if we can launch rockets to set up bases elsewhere. The human potential is vast.
Whatever civilizations in galaxies and universes that have habitable conditions, maybe one day humans will get there if we haven’t already sone so. As I said math makes it easier to believe, but a real understanding of theology will make the unseen a little bit easier to absorb into your heart and mind at times.
Any civilization in the universe might evolve technology at a rate superior to our own and certainly would be more advanced if they’ve arrived in our orbit and if Allah (swt) gave them free will and intellect like us as human beings have over the other creations on our planet.
My advice to you when you look up and wonder. Just enjoy the moment man. Sky watching can be highly relaxing. Just sit still and be quiet and forget about worldly affairs and look up to star in the sky on a clear night. It can just be beautiful and it’s something humans have done since we’ve been created.
Maybe you will see things that don’t make sense. Well, do you want to figure it out or can you just say, ‘Wow! That was weird’.
During the Pandemic, I was fortunate enough to catch a meteor shower last year and I personally witnessed on clear nights about 15. It was very cool, just as that first time I saw a ‘shooting star’ on that drive to New York as a kid.
As a hobby, sky gazing has made some cool moments and several memories.
Often when you see something strange, we are baffled and forget to capture it on camera. Processing the unknown can catch you off-guard! Maybe keep up to date with your local weather network or planetary society and this may give you a heads up on possible viewing times for sky phenomena when it’s predictable and visible and simply be grateful.
Don’t hold your breath on Aliens saving us all, my beliefs as a Muslim tell me that Prophet Muhammad (saw) would have mentioned something of this to humanity in hadith if there was an alien presence coming to intervene so my humble advice is, let’s work on ourselves as a species before worrying about others. Leave that to the special effects wizards when you go to see Avatar 2, technology is very cool.
If there are highly intelligent species from someplace, far, far, away, let’s just hope they do not introduce themselves as Gog and Magog, if and when they decide to make their presence known.”
